Ask Ms. Dee

Dear MB Readers,

The tragedy which has befallen a lot of the southern portion of our nation has touched us like no other disaster in our history. Millions of people have lost everything. Homes, jobs and lives have all been lost in staggering numbers. Our nation has never suffered such a horrendous blow to face where the leaders of this country are overwhelmed. It might take years to rebuild the city of New Orleans, which is still under water and has to be completely evacuated.

What would you do if you only had minutes to get out of harms way? Would you take heed, grab a few meaningful items and leave? Or would you stand guard over your property, belongings and disregard the warning?

Sometimes in our lives, there are God-given signs that come to warn us. If we are not in tune with the Holy Spirit and brush them off and try to do our own thing, we can make a decision that can ultimately cost us our life. Also, warnings can be sent by our leaders, family members, friends, acquaintances, strangers, etc. So the question of “could you just pick up a few things and leave?” cannot fully be answered unless such a dilemma confronts you.

Hopefully, you would be able to do just that. Nothing can mean more than your life. As you can see, God always has the last word while you are standing guard. Things can be replaced if you live. But if you can pick up the pieces and move forward, you have a better chance of surviving. Noah, a man of God in the Bible had been warned, by God that a flood was coming to destroy the world. He was told to build an Ark so that he, his family, animals and fouls of the earth might be saved. He chose to believe God and take heed. Ultimately the earth was flooded and everyone on the Ark was saved. Hopefully, we will all listen for the warnings in our lives. In other words, to not ignore the Holy Spirit letting us know when it’s time to go.

Prayers and Blessings For All,
Ms. Dee
