Ask Ms. Dee
PASSION

Dear MB Readers,

What’s in your heart that you would do if you had the chance? What are you passionate about? Most people can name some things they would like to do, but in many cases people say that they need more money to do them.

Actually, desire and perseverance are two of the most important assets you need. If you have a passion that is burning inside of you and you want to do it no matter what, then you need to start.

How do I start? I’m glad you asked.

1. Write down what it is you desire to do. Putting it in writing helps you to focus and see it down on paper. Most people can be good at something that comes easily to them. i.e. like singing, sports, talking, writing, crafts, etc.

2. If you desire to do something that you need more education for, you might need to return to school. Start by taking one class at a time if necessary.

3. Do research at the Library or on the Internet.

4. If you need private lessons, find an instructor and sign up for lessons in small doses.

5. Ask for help from friends and relatives. Some times they can point out your strong points and help you pursue them.

Be bold. You must go after what you want with gusto. Don’t be timid. God made all of us with different talents so you can always add to whatever is out there already. Even if it’s something that has been tried thousands of times, you can still put your unique spin on a craft, a song, a sport, etc.

We all have many gifts that most of us are not using. Pray about it and again ask for help. In your quiet moments, God will reveal to you what your real calling is. If you are willing to start, please know that you will be able to find your niche. When you find it, you will be willing to do whatever it takes regardless of the pay, the fame or the money. People will recognize your happiness, and once you succeed, they may want your help. Furthermore, you might be the one that is allowed to make more money than you ever dreamed you would by doing what you love.

It is better to do something you love then to live your entire life doing something you dislike. Start with something you like to do and be willing to stretch beyond your boundaries. Remember, the sky is the limit!

Happy Searching,
Ms. Dee
