Loving Your Mother

Dear MB Readers,

Mother’s Day was this past weekend and hopefully, you honored your mother in a significant way by giving her cards, flowers, jewelry, dinner out, candy, etc. However, you can never give your mother too much love. From the time you were born, she formed a special bond with you. Loving you, praying for you, kissing you, hugging you, feeding you, caring for you, singing to you, etc. She stayed up nights if you were ill, rocked you to sleep and simply took care of you while others slept. Of course, these are only a few of the things most mother’s do for their babies. She loved you unconditionally no matter what, because the bond between a mother and child or children is a bond that only she and God can understand. As you grew older, she was the one who would go the extra mile while everyone else said “no.”

Most mothers today are still the same. Because of her spiritually, she will pray for her children all of their lives. She will pray when they won’t even pray for themselves. She knows that her prayers will be answered because of her strong belief system. She will give you her last dime, deny herself to the end and sacrifice in ways you can only imagine and understand when you become an adult or a parent.

Loving your mother and letting her smell the flowers while she’s alive is your gift to her. You can never repay her for all that she has done for you. And just to show your love for her, one holiday in May is not enough. From this day forward, you can make it your mission to always show your mother love. Call often, send cards and flowers and buy some of those things that you know she will love and appreciate.

Sadly, if your mother has passed on, share her memory with loved ones and acquaintances. Let her rich history live on in your heart because she deserves to be remembered and treasured. Please remember that like most mothers who have passed on, she is probably still looking after you in some small way because “Mothers” are like that!

Sincerely,
Ms. Dee
