Rev. Johnnie Saulsberry is a native Detroiter who earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts Degrees from Michigan State University.

His parents were the late Rev. & Mrs. Thomas Lee Saulsberry who founded the Greater Southern Missionary Baptist Church where he has pastored for 15 years. As a result of his leadership, Greater Southern is involved in hands on mission work in the Akuapem, South District of Ghana, West Africa. He is also a tireless crusader for the advancement of African American people.
