The 411 May 7 & 8 - The Pentecostal Outreach Church of God in Christ, where the Sr. Pastor is Prophetess Angelene Trice, will be having a play entitled “On Bended Knees” at 6:30 p.m. at the Larry Mitchell Trice Senior Outreach Center located at 2645 W. Holmes Rd., Lansing, MI. On Bended Knees was written by Sr. Pastor Angelene Trice’s daughter, Kimberly Trice-Sharp. The play is a Mothers Day musical drama production. It is about a grandmothers love, a grandmother who is caught in a desperate situation regarding her daughter and grandson. Will her prayers be answered or will this be a tragic end to someone’s life? The production will enlighten your spirit, touch your heart and inspire your life. Bring family members and friends……. You can’t afford to miss out on this extraordinary free event. May 15 - Black Men Inc. of Greater Lansing Salute to Excellence honoring striving middle and high school youngsters at Harry Hill Voc./Tech Center. May 16 - Observance of 50th anniversary of Brown V. Board of Education ruling intended to end segregated schools. The Lansing NAACP Branch will host a program at 4:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, 2919 Pleasant Grove Road. May 22 – Senior Salute Luncheon – The 25th Annual Delta Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Graduating Senior Salute Luncheon at the MSU Kellogg Center, Big Ten Room, Palor A at 10:30 a.m. The event recognizes graduating African American high school seniors from the greater Lansing area for their accomplishments and successes. Awards will be given to many of the students who have excelled during their academic career. In addition, the sorority will award scholarships to outstanding seniors. June 11 – Golf Outing – A Black Men Inc. of Greater Lansing fundraiser scramble at the Groesbeck Golf Course. |
