The Junior League is looking for
a few good young women The Junior League of Lansing is looking for a few good young women who have made a positive impact on the community through volunteerism. And they plan to reward them with money to further their education. The Junior League of Lansing, an organization of women committed to developing the potential of women, will provide two scholarships to female high school seniors and one to a non- traditional female student with plans to attend a post- secondary school during the 2004-2005 year. The Junior league will award the three $1,000 scholarships to eligible candidates selected via a rigorous selection process. Young ladies who fit the criteria and have a desire to continue their education are encouraged to apply. The criteria for the scholarships are as follows: nominees must have a commitment to academic excellence, school transcripts are required. The nominee must be involved in community service and volunteerism. The young lady chosen must be enrolled in an educational institution for the award year. Financial need of the nominee will be considered, but financial need is not a necessity. The nomination may come from any school or community organization.
